Dr. Liz - Dee, make an oatmeal mix, put some of it in a washcloth mitt, and pat it on Jake. This frequently relieves the skin trauma from the itching.

Dr. Liz - Dee, you'll know if it's outdoor allergies after the next strong rain. If it's better after a strong rain, there is an outdoor allergy factor at work.

Dr. Liz - Joyce, yes, I read your prayer. It's in the Basket. Joyce, many find that giving a newly adopted animal the Bach Flower Essence, Walnut, along with a second Bach Flower Essence, Rescue Remedy, is very helpful.

Dr. Liz - Jill, I don't have a sense of what she wants right now, but most animals DO want their humans to get another pet. They don't feel replaced. Most animals want their humans to be happy.

Dr. Liz - The dosage, Joyce, would be 2 drops of Walnut, and 4 of Rescue Remedy, in the water bowl, daily.

Dee&HJB - Joyce- i know how touch the beginning can be with new rescues, but try and keep your energy calm about it all...it Will help
Dr. Liz - Dee, can you use lamb instead? Or turkey or other poultry? Beef is often implicated in allergy responses.
Dr. Liz - Or even fish?
Dee&HJB - Dr Liz- do you have the chart from Bach with the pin in the middle - so it turns, with the window in it?
Dr. Liz - You would need to eliminate the beef for 7 to 10 days, to know if it's the beef. It is rather common, though, as an allergen or as an aggravator of allergy responses.

Dee&HJB - im going to try that tomorrow...no beef for a week..(Jake wil be sad...lol)

Dee&HJB - i saw the pin one and tried to get it, but Bach doesnt make it anymore....i wanted one so bad that i spoke to the right person who could get me a huge wall chart...so i am just recreating it small...
Dr. Liz - Joyce, people have reported great progress in comforting their new rescue animals by using the Tellington T-Touches. There are numerous reference works to them, and teachers available, and web-sites that describe them ... you could use T-Touch or other touch massage therapy to comfort Hummer daily in this next while, during Hummer's acclimation to your home.
Dee&HJB - so much easier than using a bokk and having to look them up individually

Dee&HJB - in "dealing " with him, i had to learn to keep my emotions calm, not get over excited, yell etc...and I realized that I started "speaking" from my belly area....this felt different b/c I was used to "speaking" from my Throat area...(throat chakra) and I was always talking fast and talking in circles....i learned how to slow down, choose my words more carefully and say more spaekin g less
Rosie Tara - It is along story, Liz....but the main thing I learnt is that materail things have certainly aplace in everybody's life ..BUT are not important for our souls....

Dr. Liz - Dee, RT, Jill, these are sweet stories. Thank you. One of the things I learned, is to speak from a centered, congruent body, instead of being a "talking head" ... meaning, talking from my head and throat area, which is entirely diffrent from talking from a whole body, centered heart.
Dee&HJB - Jill- i guess Zoe taught me that to...and i didnt realize that til now...i valued everyday with her after she "got sick"

Dr. Liz - I've also noticed that talking that way, from a congruent, body, centered heart, is the way most children under 7 talk.

Dr. Liz - Another lesson I've learned from the animals, is to Voice consistent with the perceived need of the moment ... and do it fully, appropriately. If whining is in order, whine. If barking is in order, bark. If purring is in order, purr. If silence is in order, be silent. And do it completely.

Dee&HJB - i used to think certain things about a behavior ii woul dsee and draw my own conculsions about what it meant, but after having Dr Liz express my animals side of it..it was at times a different perspective than the one i imposed in the situation at hand...it made me realize that not ony can this be done with animals, but people too...
