dee&HJN - well I am presently going through a situation with a family member that the book has given me a good way to "deal" with it all...I am learning about perceptions of what is going on, and how those keep us in negative patterns
Dr.Liz - Hmmm, yes. All suffering is caused by the conversations of the Mind. Drop the conversations, we drop the suffering.
Cath&Fa - I appreciate your comment about perceptions. This has helped me, too.
dee&HJN - I now see that I need to stop labeling situations and just let them be what they are, without judgement, and let it all go...it have made me much happier

Dr.Liz - Dee, yes. Beautiful. This is what The Work teaches ... the process I've been facilitating since the mid 1990's ... how to go with the movement, without labels, without judgement. There's tremendous peace in that space.
dee&HJN - it is stuff I have hear before, the book it kinda just refreshing me on it, like i said, I am reading it at an appropriate time
Dr.Liz - Dee, don't you love it ... the way "IT" works ... we hear something perhaps 999 times, and the 1,000 time, it's like it's brand new, and we GET it! LOL!

Dr.Liz - C&F, it's a meditative process that #1 teaches us how to drop any conversation of suffering; and #2 elevates us into 5th dimensional consciousness (the Christed Consciousness) to heal the conversation and everything else we've stored in our brains around it.
dee&HJN - Dr Liz- yes, sometimes when you hear it at a crucial time (like when you really need it & can apply it at that moment) it sticks...the lightbulb goes off

Dr.Liz - Dee ... perhaps it's all about "allowing" and "receiving" ... with a touch of "deserving" thrown in! LOL!
Dr.Liz - When we're open, we're open ... when we're not ...
Cath&Fa - Thank you. That way of meditation sounds beautiful and powerful.
dee&HJN - I think a GREAT part is when he talks about "Just Breathe"..and focus on the breathing to help you cut the conversations off
Dr.Liz - C&A, in a very short period of time, application of The Work can undo almost any conversation of suffering, including those of extraordinary and deep trauma.

dee&HJN - I like the adding of deserving Dr Liz!
Dr.Liz - D&H .. "just breathe" ... we of the Energy Breathwork certainly resonate with THAT one! It is the key ... from the Breath, all else follows. Some believe it is the ONLY thing we need to do, to reach enlightenment ... breathe ... and focus on our breathing as we move through life!
Cath&Fa - That's one of the main things I love about your Breathing for Balance CD.
Dr.Liz - Certainly all yogic and qigong practices focus on it!
dee&HJN - what I love is (if nes remembersto do it) is that it is so simple and practical to do
Dr.Liz - C&F, <grin>, it's one of the things "I" love about that CD, too! LOL! It simply WORKS!!! LOL!
dee&HJN - now, if there was a way to make remembering to do it....
Dr.Liz - Metaphysically, of course, the breath is the link between spirit and body. Cleanse and energize with the breath, and all else comes forth to you.
Cath&Fa - I remember to do it when I find I have stopped breathing...e.g., rom stress at work
Dr.Liz - D&H, there is. Make it a part of the routine consciously.
Dr.Liz - C&F, that's GREAT awareness!
dee&HJN - i like how he explains that breathing is a "simple thing" yet it happens all by "itself", it is the higher power, intellignece working in us...all of us
Cath&Fa - it really helps...and I like the idea of making it routine
Dr.Liz - D&H, his explanation is beautiful. :)
dee&HJN - Correct Dr Liz..routine embeds it in our daily life
Dr.Liz - C&F, there are wonderful and quite simple ways to make something a routine. And when you make it a routine, say, every day, for even a few minutes a day, for six weeks, the body gets the idea. Then the body-mind starts to do the routine through you.
Cath&Fa - I've been doing it at stop lights when I;m driving...
Dr.Liz - C&F, that's what I started with, too. Energy Breaths at stop lights!
dee&HJN - and I LOVED (page 139) Carrying The Past..the story about the 2 Zen monks
dee&HJN - C&F- great awarenesss!
Dr.Liz - D&H, is that the one about the monk who picked up and carried the lady .. the monk that isn't supposed to touch women? And the other monk had trouble with it?
Cath&Fa - Dee--I thought of that story just this morning, when I realized I was carrying over some negative energy from something that happened last night
dee&HJN - yes, and his response.."I put the girl down hours ago, are you still carrying her?"
Dr.Liz - D&H ... the number would be very high, if I asked myself, how many times I "carried" something long after the event itself had completed!!!!
dee&HJN - I was blown away by that story/parable....it may be my favorite part,,it is such a simple story with such a powerful meaning
Cath&Fa - To me this story says, JUST BE...NOW. No past or future. Just now.
dee&HJN - it shows easily how we all do that...and that THAT is why we suffer
Dr.Liz - C&F .. BE HERE NOW. Simple.
Dr.Liz - Again showing, that the conversations of the mind, are what cause the suffering. If the second monk didn't have the conversation of the "shoulding" or shouldn't have"ing regarding the first monk’s actions ... all would be peaceful. What was done, was done. What wasn't done, wasn't done. That's it.
dee&HJN - his telling of the sappling...and how it doesnt worry about "the future" and "becoming a tree"...it just is right now...
Cath&Fa - as you say, so simple
Cath&Fa - Mind just is such a trouble maker...
Dr.Liz - Or flowers. They just grow and bloom and seed and die. No worries. They just are.
dee&HJN - that WE put such pressures on the future, and again cause our own sufering

Dr.Liz - C&F ... it is the conversations of the judgmental part of the analytical mind, that I call the "Self 1" mind, that is the trouble maker. The other parts are delightful.

Dr.Liz - We basically have 3 minds ... the Self 1 Mind, the Self 2 Mind, and the Self 0 Mind. I made these up, however, that said, it works perfectly.

dee&HJN - Dr Liz- me too..I dont want to even think about how many times I "carried" stuff for too long, but I feel greatful that I am now aware, and can do something about it
Dr.Liz - The Self 1 mind is the mind of analysis, of detail, of language, of discernment, of observation ... and of judgment.

Cath&Fa - That's an intriguing distinction. What parts do you find delightful?
Dr.Liz - The Self 1 mind is also the only part of Mind that can grasp or hold the false idea of an individuated Self.
RosieTara - Try to figure out what you are talking about...:)
Dr.Liz - The Self 2 mind is the mind of union, of color, of form, of intuition, of movement, of beauty. It holds the energetic of union, or "Two" ... which of course is why I call it, the Self 2 Mind. I call the Self 1 Mind the Self 1 mind, because the judgmental portion of the Self 1 mind, is the only part of Mind that feels it could be an isolated "1" or "One."
dee&HJN - RT- "A New Earth" concepts...how we cause our suffering with our minds...DrLiz is disceting the parts she has identified with in the Mind
Dr.Liz - The Self 0 Mind, is the Mind of the Divine, the Sacred ... the Universal Nothing. Which is why I gave it the number zero, or naught, or nothing. It is holy and sacred, without form, everywhere, every place.

Dr.Liz - When we are happy, when we are feeling peace, when we are feeling connection, the three minds are aligned. When they aren't, we aren't, when we aren't, they aren't.
dee&HJN - Dr Liz- This is a GREAT way to see the Mind
Dr.Liz - An aspect of human consciousness is, that the judgmental portion of the Self 1 Mind ... the source of all conversations of suffering ... pretty much RUNS us, until we learn how to quiet it. Then it becomes a loving servant. Very sweet, when it does. Very difficult, until it does.
Cath&Fa - yes; this is new for me
Dr.Liz - So the Mind is quite beautiful. And the much maligned ego, is actually, I believe, a Divine construct, created to show us with ruthless compassion, virtually EVERY place in our lives, that we are capable of holding a thought of separation.
RosieTara - How do we quiet it, Liz ?
Dr.Liz - When we heal the thoughts of separation, we heal ourselves.
Dr.Liz - RT, the fastest way is through awareness of the breath.
dee&HJN - Yes Dr Liz- I like your concept here...I like how you gave the "ego" a function..I do believe w"we" are here, as humans with this ego, for a purpose
Dr.Liz - RT, another fast way, is through humor.
RosieTara - Thanks Liz....I always have to remeber myself to breath the RIGHT way...

dee&HJN - I believe YOUR concept here gives the ego a part to play, and you show how we can learn from it, rather that "dislike" it to the point that we dislike ourselves because of it

Dr.Liz - There's a lot I like about The Work ... some of it is, the process itself puts the Self 1, Self 2, and Self 0 Minds into alignment ... and then uses a meditative inquiry along with humor, to undo the conversation(s) of suffering.
Dr.Liz - D&H, I truly believe the ego, that is sometimes called the ego-mind, is a Divine Construct ... created to show us virtually EVERY place in our lives, that we're capable of holding a thought of separation.
Dr.Liz - And I truly believe it does it's job, with totally loving and ruthless compassion. Meaning, it WILL DO ITS JOB!!!!
dee&HJN - i like that you "justify" the egos presence, just not justify its actions

Dr.Liz - It is really appropriate to LOVE our ego mind! Its job is to help us find God!
Dr.Liz - RT, separation can only exist as a thought, since it does not exist in consciousness or in the world.
Cath&Fa - you're the first person I’ve ever heard say this!
dee&HJN - so many "teachers" out there try go get you to banish the ego, talk about it like it is a part of us we MUST discard, you show how to "use it" and to let go of its hold on us to it is a teacher for us
Dr.Liz - Or more correctly, in the collective conscious.

Dr.Liz - D&H ... I truly believe that. The ego mind is our greatest link to God.
Cath&Fa - How does ego-mind relate to soul and spirit?
Dr.Liz - And when we understand that, and welcome it's messages to us ... then we know exactly where and how and what we have left to "un-do" so that we can flow resonance .... which IS the divine ... in all that we are.
Dr.Liz - C&F, the soul and spirit reside in the Self 0 Mind.

Dr.Liz - The level of spirituality, is reflected in the degree or level of congruence of the 3 minds ... the Self 1, Self 2, and Self 0 Minds.
Cath&Fa - please say more, Dr Liz
Dr.Liz - When the three minds are not aligned, and the judgmental portion of the Self 1 mind is "running the show" ... meaning, it is TRYING (usually through suffering) to GET OUR ATTENTION ...
Dr.Liz - then we are generally acting in a way that reflects a low level of spirituality.
Dr.Liz - The more aligned our minds get, the higher our energetic presentation by thought, word, and deed, is.
RosieTara - So true...
Dr.Liz - The experience here is, that the more we love and listen to the conversations of the ego-mind, a.k.a. the judgmental portion of the Self 1 mind ...
Dr.Liz - ...then the more we learn about what we need to undo. More and more, we undo ... and after a while ...
Dr.Liz - We find that the ego mind starts playing with us ... "hey, here's one you haven't undone yet ... ready to undo it now?"
Dr.Liz - So it starts to help us in a conscious way.
Dr.Liz - And then we can start to laugh in a good-natured way, when the "old" conversations that used to hurt so much, show their energies again!
dee&HJN - I like what E. Tolle said about how our minds work..we create our "own truths" (like separateness) ...the example he uses witht he sun rise & sun set. We use these terms and think of the sun as setting & rising...but it is only our narrow perspective that makes this true...the sun is always shiining

Dr.Liz - D&H ... or, the earth is always moving! LOL!
Dr.Liz - In this way, when the judgmental portion of the Self 1 mind starts to "be" in this way in us, then it becomes our loving servant in a more obvious way.

Dr.Liz - Which it always is ... our loving servant I mean ... it's just it becomes quieter and quieter ... more and more peace flow through. Very sweet.

Dr.Liz - C&F .. I make the distinction, that the only "troublemaker", is the judgmental portion of the Self 1 Mind. The Self 1 Mind does other wonderful things ... it allows us detail, and discernment, and language, and analysis, and observation.
dee&HJN - I think that we create our negative side, and we can "undo" it too...yes there are negative influences, but we can try to rise above falling victim to them
Dr.Liz - Judgment is only one small part of the Self 1 Mind. It just becomes a BIG part of many people's experiences sometimes.
Dr.Liz - D&H ... it is the experience here, that we can undo them and release them.

Dr.Liz - I have an idea I'd like to share ... I've had suggested to me (again!!!), that we can all use our computers and talk together for free using Skype, a free program that supports talking ... how do you feel about the idea of all being connected via telephone, meaning, Voice? Would that work for you? You'd need a head-set mic, the Skype software, and your computers ... what do you think? It would be free....

Dr.Liz - The "group" conversations, I believe, can hold up to 10 people. Which would work for us, for our group. The only disadvantage is that we wouldn't have transcripts.

Dr.Liz - D&H ,,, Sunday night around 10:30, I turned on the TV and immediately heard, "United flight 93 ... we've been highjacked" ... I realized in that instant, that a 9/11 movie was showing ... and I started to cry. I thought I had dealt with all of it, and realized in that moment, that I hadn't. :)

Dr.Liz - D&H ... I've been remembering all the animals who crossed in order to help ... yes, I remember.
dee&HJN - I wonder what Doc is up to now..I recall he was "very busy" when you sensed him last...lol

Dr.Liz - D&H ... I knew in April of 2001, that something was going to happen in early September, because Guidance told me ... I said it aloud to a class in Canada that I was teaching at the time.

Dr.Liz - And in August, animals started to die ... in large numbers ... when I connected with them, they all told me they had a job to do and needed to be available in early September ... I didn't know WHAT was going to happen, I just knew it was big and it would be early September. I also knew it was going to involve large numbers of beings dying.
dee&HJN - I know animlas have a great sense for that too...events like that..(likethe tsunami in 04 - they fled to higher grounds)

Dr.Liz - The Sunday night before 9/11, I was leading a Chat on-line ... and I suddenly coached people into a process of what to do in the face of disaster ... I taught a tonglen meditation, and also taught a meditation to handle great suffering. That was Sunday, 9/9.

Dr.Liz - No, I didn't know it was going to be Tuesday, 9/11 ... I just knew it was going to be very soon.
Dr.Liz - I picked it up from the general consciousness, and especially the animals' awareness.
Joanne - Wow, so you were able to help without knowing what you were helping
Dr.Liz - Joanne, yes. Softly I offer, I believe I wasn't told because I would have been too upset.
Dr.Liz - And being upset, I wouldn't have been as effective in helping.
Dr.Liz - Spirit's doing, clearly.
Joanne - From a spiritual point, why was 9/11 allowed to happen?
RosieTara - I am still upset and very confused when I see the pictures of 9/11 on Tv
Dr.Liz - RT, I am, too.
dee&HJN - we all have our part in the process....you were given a way to help that I'm sure impacted many
Dr.Liz - Joanne, spiritually, it was a huge wake-up call to the U .S.
Joanne - that we needed to change how we interacted with the world?
RosieTara - We saw it here when it just happened at 1.00 am
Dr.Liz - In 2001, we had a very divided nation, who in many ways, had forgotten how to unite, had forgotten our root values.
dee&HJN - Dr Liz- I believe it was designed as a wake up call..and many were awakened, but I feelthat many allowed ego & fear to create more problems
Dr.Liz - Sadly, we have that now, too. But for a while there, we DID band together, and we DID elevate ourselves.
Dr.Liz - D&H ... yes, I feel that, too.
dee&HJN - it is sad that it takes somethng of that negative magnitude to clue us in to uniting
Joanne - But so few people understand what we have really done in the world -- the ugly I'm talking about
Dr.Liz - Although many feel that Love is the binding energy of the universe, we are now in a period were it is GRIEF that binds. Remember the August when both Princess Diana and Mother Teresa died? Grief linked the planet ... very powerful. On 9/11 and its aftermath, Grief linked it again.
Dr.Liz - It will be wonderful when LOVE links us.
Dr.Liz - The sad part of 9/11, is that retaliation energy followed it.
dee&HJN - now..should we approach this with out judgement and see the uniting and not judge "why the uniting"?
Joanne - that's what upsets me so much - grief linked us but then seemed to turn to hate
RosieTara - I wondeer if that is possible after all what has happened and is happening.....
Dr.Liz - D&H ... spiritually, I believe the U.S. holds place in the world as the masters of materialism.
Dr.Liz - When the U.S. learns how to be spiritual ... which it is ... it has the potential to be the uniting force for the planet between the balance of materialism and spirituality.
dee&HJN - yes I agree Dr Liz
Dr.Liz - Right now, India holds the planet for spirituality.
Dr.Liz - And right now, Bali holds the belly button of the planet, in terms of the balance between materialism and spirituality.
RosieTara - I agree, Liz
dee&HJN - at least it IS somewhere...and once more of us learn that we are all ONe, the physicall location will not be as important
Dr.Liz - Very simply, if we don't learn it, we'll destroy the planet ... or the planet will destroy us.
Dr.Liz - D&H .... yes.
Joanne - some believe that the center of the earth's spirituality has moved to Peru
Dr.Liz - Joanne, I feel there are extraordinarily spiritual places in Peru and also Brazil.
Joanne - Are there such spiritual places in the US?
Dr.Liz - The Crystal Mountain in Abbadiania in Brazil comes immediately to mind.
Dr.Liz - Joanne, at that level? No.
RosieTara - And I don't like what is going on in Switzerland at the moment..
Dr.Liz - There are places ... Yosemite, for example ... that are very spiritual.
Dr.Liz - RT, what's going on in Switzerland?
RosieTara - We interfere with Nature and the Universe
Dr.Liz - RT, China's doing that in a big way now, too.
RosieTara - the tunnel they build for tests to find out how life began...the recreation of the BIG BANG
Dr.Liz - RT, oh, yes, I thought that was partly in France?
RosieTara - 100m under the earth....

dee&HJN - (Dr Liz- did you see the episode of Dog Town -Nation Geographic Channel- about the rehabilitation of the Michael Vick dogs- the ones used in dog fighting?)
Dr.Liz - RT, yes. That's potentially a VERY dangerous experiment. Could wipe us all out.
